We are launching a pilot program called “Stick Together” that will offer FREE field hockey programming for local Indigenous youth this winter.

The Nepean Nighthawks Field Hockey Club is a community based, volunteer driven organization dedicated to the development of field hockey in the Ottawa area. We strive to strike a balance between the development of athletes and the life long love of sport.

The program’s focus is on fun and participation. The program will introduce the sport and offer participation opportunities to youth of our region.

The goal is to provide Indigenous youth with barrier free access to community sport this season. Our Beginner field hockey program is for youth from ages 8-13. Sessions will be from 8:30-9:30am on Saturdays from November 5th to March 4th 2023 at the Norm Fenn Gym at Carleton University.

In addition to free programming and to further reduce barriers, the program will cover for cost of transportation to attend the program as well as cover equipment needs. Information about our organization and Junior Beginner Programming can be found here.

We are seeking partners within the local Indigenous Community to help the Nighthawks share the program with the audience who will most benefit.

This program is supported by Field Hockey Canada and The Field Hockey Centre.
