Welcome to the 2024 high school field hockey season! This tournament consists of two ONE-DAY tournaments on both Thursday September 26th and Friday September 27th. There will be 6 teams competing on each day. The cost of the tournament is $450/team or $400 for teams that register a representative for the Rules of Hockey & Umpire course taking place on September 22nd.
The tournament will run from 9am to 5pm both days, rain or shine. Preference of day will be first come first serve. Teams are also welcome to register for both days if spaces are available.
The Nighthawks are dedicated to connecting the field hockey community and strengthening relationships. The Carleton University and UOttawa Field Hockey Clubs will be present to share information about their hockey programming, university programs, and how to do both.
Revamp Sports is the Nighthawks official equipment provider and will be present to sell field hockey equipment during the tournament. If you have any special requests for equipment please let us know in advance to make sure it is available for you! https://revampsports.com/
The winner from each day will be awarded a 1-hr skills clinic that is run by the Carleton University Club leaders. During this session they will help your team get to the next level!
More than just hockey
We recognize that some teams who participate in this tournament may miss their school’s scheduled programming for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. During our tournament we will take the time to address this day and share information on how each of us can take steps towards reconciliation. Over the past year the Nighthawks have provided free programming for Indigenous Youth. The Stick Together Program has been a rocking success and we look forward to sharing more of our reconciliation efforts with the community.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
As we all recover from the impacts of COVID-19, the Nighthawks goal is to provide playing opportunities for hockey players. This tournament will provide an environment where the hockey community can engage in friendly play and reconnect.
This tournament is an opportunity for high school teams to connect with the Nighthawks, local university teams, and the greater field hockey community. With these connections we can work together to provide meaningful sport experiences for young athletes in our community. Many Nighthawks have gone on to play at universities across North America, for junior and senior national teams, and most importantly continue to enjoy sport for life.
Let’s build a healthy and active community together!

LOW WASTE EVENT
The Nighthawks are committed to doing our part to reduce unnecessary single use waste. Sporting events can produce A LOT of waste, but they don’t have to. From piles of plastic water bottles to single use food containers and cutlery – we can do better.
Our goals:
- Eliminate plastic bottles
- Eliminate single use foodware
- Divert waste from landfill
What WE can do:
- Provide a water refill station
- Provide reusable plates and cutlery
- Provide recycling and compost bins on site
What YOU can do:
- Bring your own water bottle(s)
- Bring your own plate and cutlery
- Avoid bringing waste to the site and use the provided bins when necessary
More examples of ways you can reduce your waste at the event are to opt for package free and homemade snacks over individually packaged items, bring your own travel mug for morning coffee run(s), and have the schedule on your phone instead of printing it out.
VOLUNTEERS, UMPIRES, AND SPONSORS
The Nighthawks rely on volunteers for successful events. We need technical officials, umpires, food coordinators, water coordinators, managers, sponsors, and people to set-up and take-down after all the fun.
Please send us a message to volunteer or express interest of sponsorship for this event.
