2012 Spring/Summer Field Hockey with the Nepean Nighthawks
We run a Junior program for both Girls and Boys 10-18 yrs of age. Athletes of all skill levels are welcome.
Required equipment : stick, shin guards, running shoes, water bottle, and MOUTH GUARD (mandatory).
Please note:
For new players: loaner sticks provided for the first few practices. Sticks will be available for purchase early in May.
Dates/Location
Spring Session: begins in April – ending June 30.
Summer Competitive Session: July – mid Aug, includes out of town tournaments, Junior Women’s Provincial League, and the Ontario Summer Games (U16).
Minto Field @ Nepean Sportsplex
1.5 – 2 hours per session, depending on field availability
>All players once a week in April (Thursday nights).
> U12 Co-ed - Mondays and Thursdays (May/June)
> U14 / U16 Boys – Mondays and Thursdays (May/June)
> U14 / U16 / U18 Girls – Mondays and Wednesdays (May/June). League on Wednesdays.
Cost:
Spring Session 2012: Entry into our Club Tournament and FHO membership.
Tournaments extra. $145 (Club Fees) + $30 (FHO Fee) = $175
Summer 2012: (Fee TBD), included July tournament in Toronto
Tournaments
> Club tournament scheduled for the last weekend in June.
> There are tournaments in Toronto – end of May and mid-July.
> Visiting Touring teams from England/Wales coming through Ottawa. Games are set up as per the traveling teams schedule. Midweek @ Minto.
Ontario Summer Games 2012. U16 boys and girls. ~ Aug 16-19, Mississauga.
As it is a Summer Games year, our program structure may change slightly and we will add separate practices for the OSG teams.
We will announce practices and tryouts for this separately and we may even begin in March/April in an indoor turf facility.

Junior Women Provincial League
We also play in the Junior Women Provincial League. 8-10 games throughout the summer – typically June and July. U18 girls.
Last year we played all our games in 2 tournament weekends. We hosted one weekend and went to Oakville for the other.
